Deep down inside we can get a burning desire to achieve a worthwhile goal in the field of cookery. Often we fail to see this potential for ourselves until an opportunity arises which sets our course on a path to achieve great things in the culinary world. Working with a professional culinary team, on a daily basis can remind us of our True calling and destined career path should it be taken.

Where do you see yourself in the culinary world? Do you see yourself as a Chefs, Baker, Fryer, Beautician, Caterer, or front office person? Whatever term you use, you will most likely fall into one of the top four or five culinary career categories. You can even further enhance your career potential by successfully completing an accredited program leading to a certificate or degree from a very reputed cooking school. You will certainly have to start at the bottom, but beginning with the lower levels is a great way to begin building your qualifications and networking experience.

Where will you be employed? Many of the large hotels and restaurants require chefs and cooks to be fully trained and prepared to work in one of their many kitchens. This is a good way to get paid on a vacation basis, but also to have the experience necessary to continue learning as you advance up the food service organization ladder.

Another great place to be employed is at a culinary school. The many higher education institutions will offer chefs the opportunity to learn from some of the most prestigious chefs, besides gaining broader experience by assisting in prep work for gourmet dinners. Even though you will not be working for an actual restaurant or hotel, there is still a great deal of practical experience that can be applied to many different fields including superintouting, bolognaizing, and making sure everything is prepared to Eat.

How do you obtain a job as a chef? As with any employment opportunity, there are going to be several ways to get you jobked. The first list includes still being a chef, or preferably a chef that works in a chain restaurant. Most chefs will have at least 10-20 years experience in the kitchen, which is necessary to know what is expected of them, and how to handle various kinds of difficult tasks. 20-some years is far too young to start out on being a chef, but if you can gain experience at 10- 20 stores or service a catering event for example, you’ll have established your chops. You’ll have also established your market, which instantly puts you in touch with potential clients.

Once you’ve established a nice clientele, you will also have a nice platform upon which to launch your career. A good company can easily see the potential income generated from culinary school classes, so if you’ve recently been out of work for a while, haven’t been working as much as you would like, or you are just starting out – resorting to cooking for others isn’t always the best move. In order to get hired as a chef, schools must have a minimum student-body ratio, which means students must be offered a good salary, and the job opportunities for certified chefs are excellent. The best chefs make the perfect match for management by capitalizing on their education and abilities, not just their passion.

Another very good reason for hiring certified chefs is the advancement of your career. Chefs have management duties, sleep little and are often involved in other personal things. By keeping with their job until they are safely married, graduates from culinary school, or until they have accumulated enough tips to buy their own outfits, they will maintain their status for the longest time possible. In addition, if you manage a restaurant or two, or if you have a company you work with, you will be able to build a reputation as a chef that will be attractive to prospective clients.

One final benefit of hiring certified chefs is the suggestion it offers to your budget. With many courses pricey, you may be surprised to find that the prices paid for one-on-one sessions is actually less than what would be charged for a larger group session. When you are sessionsize, you can also choose more than one session per session, which is a unique feature found in some other programs.

Remember, it is not hire to become a chef. Clients and their families want Kings.
