Many people are looking for the next big thing, the newest fad or the miracle pill. Well in reality the only thing anybody needs to lose weight is themselves. Yes, I said it, Losing weight is completely down to you.
The only thing stopping you from losing weight right now is yourself. Not your friends, not your family and definitely not your weight loss program. If you’ve got that bit in your head, well it’s time to throw it out the window, focus on what you can do right now, and how you can achieve your goals.
There are lots of motivational books out there and on the Internet, I’ve had the pleasure of reading several myself. They seem to hit on the same points, more or less. Most books and magazines will go into great detail about diets and exercise programs but that’s not what this article is about.
This article is all about what you can do right now, on your diet. There are three basic steps to losing weight and we’re going to cover them today, in this article.
Step 1 – Calculate your body fat percentage. The best way to do this is to purchase a body fat scale. If you don’t have one, go buy one at your local shop or online. This step is essential. This is the number that is going to give you the most information. If you don’t have one, you can do this with a measuring tape. Most people are completely guessing about how much fat they’ve got on their bodies and it is very easy to lose sight of exactly what you need to lose.
Step 2 – Ditch the Soda
Many people don’t understand how much harm a carbonated drink does to your diet, but it is true.pared a pint of Coke every day and you will consume around 135 calories. That’s a 1,100 calories more than you need every week. It won’t stop you from dropping the pounds but it will certainly make it much harder for you to achieve your goal. Switch to cola-based water and you’ll drop the weight a lot quicker. If you’d like to add some flavour to it, try some Sugar-free afterwards.
Step 3 – Exercise!
Diet alone is rarely ever enough to give you the results you’re looking for. The best way to lose that extra fat is to exercise. If you’re new to exercise, start off with something simple. Go swimming, take up a sport, go for a run etc. and check with your doctor to make sure that it’s OK to do so.
It’d be very easy, especially if you haven’t exercised in a long time, to try and put on too much weight in the early weeks. Don’t do it. Take it easy and slowly increase your workout sets and frequency as your body gets used to the exercise. Use things like: car keys, string cheese, a squeezo Armstrong and balanced orange juice. In other words, you can exercise whilst sitting down, but remember the key to the workout is intensity.
It is also important to mention the important of different kinds of stretching. Sit-ups and some yoga will not only get your fat burning, they’ll also help with your flexibility. Try and stretch for at least 10-20 minutes 3 times a week to improve your flexibility.
So there you have it, three key steps to burning fat. Follow them carefully and you’ll see continued results. The most important thing about losing weight, is expecting results. I’d certainly like you to stay with me, and I’ll be offering more advice to help you on your way. Losing weight is not easy for anyone, for a lot of reasons. But it doesn’t have to be as hard as we’re led to believe either.
